Hang Ten Trailer Style

HI Y'all,
About this time every year the temp starts staying in the 100's. That is when Mark and I both start thinking about leaving for a rest for a week somewhere cooler. I have had my mind on the beach for a while now and not just because of the terrible fires in that area. Summer to me growing up, meant piling in the car and heading to the beach for the day. My Mom would get a wild hair and say lets go to the beach! Lots of whooping and hollering would follow and we would scramble to get out of the house quick. We'd meet my Aunt (she lives down there) and we and our cousins would spend the day at the beach. Great memories to say the least. I loved this trailer and thought I would make it into a beach theme. When I was a kid you could still stay at the beach in your trailer and I saw lots like this growing up.

Start with the Trailer box From Camp Firefly. I cut it at the size it imports. As always I will list the supplies and kit, collections at the bottom of this post. I got most of the trailer put together last night and found I had not re-downloaded when they found a file missing, so I couldn't finish till today.
I added a door knob to the screen door and a stone in front of the screen to hold it shut a bit. I used the seagull and Hang Ten from the Beach Bum 3. The Surf-Board is from Beach Bum 2. The mat I sized way down and ended up doing more cutting with just my scissors to make it small enough. I had the flip-flop brads in my stash.
The welcome sign was a scrap of paper I poked holes and threaded linen thread through and tied knots. I put a dab of glue at the point and held it there till it was set then took a brown pen and made a dot for the nail. To make the surf-board stand against the trailer I put a dab of glue on the lid top and the back of the top of the surf board and held it there till it was dry. I did the seagull the same way. The embossing folder I used on the trailer accents was a Christmas one called Candy Stripes by Tim Holtz. That was really it Y'all nothing fancy about this but I am happy with the way it came out and it will be a nice decoration to my room. Thanks so much for stopping by, I hope y'all get a chance to take a trip to the beach  or anywhere and make some memories! Happy Craftin Y'all! Blessings Sharalyn

A Card for my Other Mom

Hey Y'all!

When you know your getting Graphic 45 in the mail soon it makes you want to do a happy dance!  On top of that I did do a search and found the My Minds Eye Sweetest thing collections paper I was looking for. I would have been happy with just a few sheets, as I knew it wasn't new but I found 66 sheets of happiness all on the clearance rack.
Someone asked me where I get my paper, well there are a few places I get all that loveliness and I will share all those places with you at the bottom of my post. First I try out the collection by purchasing it a lot of times from scrapbooksteals.com. Then If I find I just love the paper and it makes me smile or be in a happy mood every time I look at it then I try to find more of it. That is kind of the way I buy paper. But Graphic 45 is a little different for me. I have to really love the paper or I don't buy it. I usually look on amazon for that as I can look at the different sheets and see if it is something I really want. I can also get it a lot of times without paying shipping as I have the amazon prime, which is not just free shipping. Look into it sometime. Anyhoo, I will start on my card now.

I started with the blank Basket Box from the new Box Cards SVG Kit from SVG Cuts.
I looked at my PDF which Mary works so hard on and I appreciate very much, and decided what I wanted in the way of the flowers a vine and so forth. I used the free butterfly but I only used the top as I wanted a crispness to the butterflies.
As far as the paper goes I did only use 2 sheets of paper. I just chose different parts of the pink to achieve the look I wanted, as always I inked the edges to give it that extra pop. The front and back inserts were not in the extras folder and I did have some trouble with the flowers as the ones in the box flower card are numbered differently. To make the inserts for the front and back I brought in the front piece and cut off the attached flowers and stems Mary had welled to them. I have Silhouette Designer software and one of the reasons I wanted a cameo was the wonderful knife in their software.  Then I went back and welded the flowers and or stems and butterflies to the different pieces. I did have to trim the tabs a bit on the 4th insert as I wanted a little more space between that one and the back piece.
Add tiny black and white pearls to your butterflies and an eye the hummingbird. For the flower centers I used enamel dots. To make some of the flowers and the hummingbird stand out I used dimensionals (stampin Up version of pop dots.) I used my flower shaping tools to make the flowers stand out just a bit and just put a good circle of glue behind the center of the flower. The hummingbird is from Tropical Friends SVG Collection just sized down as were the flowers.

The label was also one of the freebies, but I only used the first and second piece. I didn't want to overpower the card. I also make the strawberry box card but it isn't finished yet. It needs something and I don't want to post a photo of it till it is done. This kit is so versatile and really has the wow factor going for it. It is also Free with a 9.98 purchase. Just make sure you add the Freegift code in the discount code box before checking out. Thanks for stopping by and Happy Craftin' Y'all! Blessings Sharalyn
